DescriptionMeasures approximately 5cmThis beautiful pendant is an original, one of a kind piece, created using bare copper wire and an 8mm blue goldstone bead. I added a patina to darken the copper and give the pendant an antiqued look. I pair this with a cotton cord necklace, but copper chains are available upon request. The Goldstone meaning is shrouded in mystery and legendary folklore that can be traced back to the Miotti family of Venice in the seventeenth century. This Italian family of glassmakers perfected the technique of creating a special kind of treated glass resulting in Goldstone. Another legend traces its origins to medieval times and an obscure monastic order, giving it the name Monk’s Gold. The Miotti family kept their technique secret for hundreds of years until an Italian glassmaker named Pietro Bigaglia brought it to the mainstream in the 19th century. Today, its sparkling microscopic copper spheres look even more stunning when smoothed and polished into beads for jewelry making. Each order is packaged gift-ready in letter box friendly sized boxes for you to send directly as a gift. Sustainable fashion Besides its natural beauty and ability to oxidise and transform, 100% of copper can be recycled without any loss of its original mined quality. Over 80% of the copper mined since it was discovered thousands of years ago is still in use today. Those who happen to be deficient in copper may benefit from wearing it in jewellery form, such as necklaces, rings and bracelets. It is a good way of taking in the small amount of the mineral needed, without overwhelming the body. The healing properties of copper has been reported by some to relieve the symptoms of arthritis and circulation problems.
